The Power of Pureness - Ingredients of Dardia®
Dardia® formulations are characterised by both the ingredients they do not contain and those they do contain.
The basic principle underlying the development of Dardia® has been to maximise hydration and skin tolerance by minimising the number of ingredients. To achieve this goal, the patented Dardia® formulations are free from ‘cosmetic frills’ or ingredients with a known allergenic and irritative potential.
It is guaranteed that Dardia® products do not contain the following ingredients or group of substances:
- Perfumes and perfume substitutes
- Preservatives
- Lanolin
- Colorants
- Cetylstearylalcohol
- Ethylene-oxide based products
- Polyethylene glycol (PEGs)
- Proteins
- Animal extracts
- Plant extracts
- Alcohol
- Any of the ingredients listed in the allergen hitlist
Moisturising agents in Dardia®
The ingredients of Dardia® are listed according to the European cosmetic directive INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients). See: List of Ingredients.
As well as a high level of lipids, Dardia® products contain three active moisturising agents:
- Urea (Dardia® Lipo Milk and Lipo Ointment only)
- Lactic acid
- Glycerin
Urea and Lactic acid are components of the Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF), the natural mix of moisturising substances present in normal healthy skin. Glycerin is a widely used pharmaceutical moisturiser. All three ingredients have the ability to absorb and retain moisture within the outer layer of the skin.
Purity of raw materials
The development and production of cosmetics is not controlled by the same regulations as drugs which have to meet pharmaceutical standards. This is based on the assumption that cosmetics are only applied to healthy skin.
Cosmetic products also undergo testing, but pharmaceutical standards and regulations are different.
Dardia®’s safety tests have been conducted according to pharmaceutical standards, and the highly purified raw materials ensure maximal safety and reliable skin tolerance.
